Obsessed!

December 22, 2008

A friend of my mom's sent a present to him as a welcome into the world gift so we let him open it before Christmas. It is a Mickey Mouse push toy that is an airplane, the propeller goes around and lights up and plays music; it is really cute. Apparently Liam thought so too because he was obsessed with the toy.

He like to play next to it, pressing buttons and stopping the propeller with his hands.

He liked to sit on top of it.

He liked to have you push him through the house on it.

And he liked to walk behind it like a big boy and push it all by himself!
No matter which way he played with this toy he was a happy boy. Thanks Donna for remembering him and picking out the best gift ever!

Visiting Family in Chicago!

December 2008

We headed to Chicago a little early to avoid another snow storm and while we were there we had a chance to visit with some family.
We went to see Aunt Cyndy and Uncle Ziggy and boy was it cold that day. Chicago had record breaking temps in the negatives but that did not stop us! We had a great time, Liam played with Aunt Cyndy and was all smiles.
Liam opened up his first Christmas gifts at Aunt Cyndy's too! He loves his tugboat for the bath tub and Mommy loves his new clothes that are super warm. Thanks Aunt Cyndy and Uncle Ziggy :)

The next day we headed off to visit with Mike's mom. These visits are always "interesting" and I was hoping for something quick and uneventful. It actually turned out better than either of us could of imagined. We took her to a local restaurant and Liam served as a great distraction. I mean who can't love that kid? She spent some time reading to him from one of his favorite books. Overall it was pleasant and very surprising...Merry Christmas to us!

Let It Snow!

December 19, 2008

Everyone told us that it snowed a lot here in Michigan but until you live with it you just can't grasp the amount of snow we get. In the last few days we have gotten probably at least 2 feet of snow!

Liam, the dogs, and I went for a walk in it today. Only our street was cleared so I stuffed Liam into his snowsuit and baby Bjorn Carrier and off we went. What a sight we were...2 dogs in coats, a lady in a winter coat with a baby hanging off the front in a snowsuit!
As much as the snow is a pain in the butt we have a lot of fun with it too, otherwise we would not survive! Although in the pic below Mike does not look like he is having too much fun :) ha ha!

Meeting Santa

December 14, 2008

We took Liam to meet Santa Claus today, I thought we would end up with the classic screaming pictures since he does have some mild separation anxiety but he did really well. We went to a store called Horrock's here in town, it is this odd store that has everything you could imagine. Anyhow I remember that one of my friend's told me they had a great Santa so off we went. When we got there we looked at Santa from afar and waved at him. There was no line so then we just walked right up. I climbed into the sleigh with Liam initially to see how he would do and he was all smiles...
so I passed him off to Santa for some alone time. It was love at first site we were able to capture some great pictures, we were sad to leave!

Trimming the Tree

December 13, 2008
Tonight we trimmed the Christmas tree, we attempted to have Liam help but soon realized that it was easier to do it after he went to bed :)

I thought that Liam would be fascinated by the tree but surprisingly he doesn't really pay any attention to it. Sometimes in the evening when I turn on the lights and say "tadaa!" he will squeal with delight but overall he pretends like it isn't there which I guess is a good thing.

Getting Ready for Christmas...

December 2008

We are getting ready to celebrate Liam's first Christmas and are having so much fun doing it! He has started to wear all his fun Christmas pajamas and clothes, and boy is he cute!
We went to Fredrick Meijer Gardens the other day to visit Santa's reindeer and to look at all the beautiful Christmas trees and decorations. As soon as we went out the door toward the reindeer he started laughing and the closer we got the louder he got! Everyone was laughing at him because he was so darn cute!
In one of the greenhouse there is a train that runs through it, we thought Liam would be too young to notice it but we were wrong. He was fascinated by it. In both of these pics you can see him watching the train go by.
He loved sitting up on top of daddy's head...a whole new perspective on the world!
This is such a fascinating time of year for us, Liam is growing and changing everyday. We are so grateful to be closer to home and family so that they can share in this experience.

Anyone for Some Ice Cream?

December 12, 2008

My Aunt Lorie gave us this great ice cream truck toy that all of her girls played with and Liam loves it! He stands next to it and pulls the ice cream out it, and he tries to push it! It is too cute!
