About two weeks ago (I was almost 35 weeks) Mike and I went to a photographer in town (www.amandatraywick.com) and had some photos done. I was not sure if I would like them or not but they turned out awesome.
36 Week Check up!
Today Mike and I went to see Dr. Kennedy for my 36 week check. Mike had a rare afternoon off and was able to go with which was a special treat! I can proudly report that I am a fingertip dilated and 70% effaced (which is the percentage that the cervix has thinned out). I don't really think this means a whole lot...I can stay like this for my remaining 4 weeks or progress and deliver tomorrow. If only we had a crystal ball!
I am getting anxious about delivery, the pelvic hurt quite a bit today and I am wondering if her hand hurt that much how the heck will I get a baby through there! Details, details!

AOA and Resident's Showers
Mike works with Dr. Long at Alabama Ophthalmology Associates and they too gave us a shower! It was at the office and catered by Homewood Gourmet (which I happen to love!). It was great to get to meet all the staff and put some faces with the names that I hear so often. We really enjoyed ourselves and are still amazed at how generous everyone has been.
The residents also had a baby shower for us at Josh and Mandy's house, Brian and Anna also helped to host it. I feel like all I do is repeat myself about how fortunate we are to have so many people that care about us. We had a great time and can't wait for everyone to meet this baby when he/she arrives! (Sadly I don't have pictures for the AOA shower and hopefully will have some pics from the residents shower soon...sorry).

Showers, Shower, and More Showers!!
In February I had my third shower at Brookwood Medical Center in the NICU. Everyone went out of their way to make it a special day for me with many of my coworkers driving in on their day off!
I really appreciated everyone's enthusiasm for our family. The food was great and the cake even better (hmm I see a theme about the cake always being so tasty!).
When we moved here a little over 18 months ago I would have never guessed how fortunate we would be. I have made lots of friends here in Bama and am sad that my time here will end soon.
Indianapolis Baby Shower
Back in January I made the trek up to Indy for my baby shower! It was at Amanda's house which is also where I stayed for a couple of nights too. It was great to be able to spend time with Amanda and her family...gosh how I miss living in the same city as her.
The shower was perfect, Amanda made a stork cake and decorated it herself (mmm was it delicious and good looking!). I was able to catch up with friends from Saint Vincent Hospital and also my friend Kelly from the neighborhood. It amazes me to this day how excited everyone is about this baby, we are so blessed to be surrounded by loving and caring friends and family.
Birmingham's Big Snow!!!
On January 19, 2008 Birmingham had a much anticipated snow fall. I had to work that day and received a phone call the night before to pack an overnight bag and to prepare to spend the night possibly on the floor (yeah right!). This snow fall/blizzard was big news down here, thankfully it ended up being just a little bit of snow. It still turned the city upside down...grocery shelves were cleared of all essentials, and everyone stayed indoors except for Mike, Sassy, and Fletch who enjoyed a walk during it all! Mike and I had a good chuckle over the panic that it caused.
Chicago Baby Shower
Yummy cake!
Annie is pregnant too!
My first baby shower was in Chicago, IL on January 13, 2008. It was hosted by my mom and Mike's stepmom. We had it at the Oak Lawn Hilton, everything was perfect. The best part was being able to see friends and family that we have not seen in a long time since we live in Alabama. I still can't get over how much the kids I used to babysit for have grown...ohh how old it makes me feel. Everyone was beyond generous and we had a great time. I am posting just a few pics, the rest I will add later. Thanks everyone for remebering us and sharing in our excitement of Baby Boyle!
