All Dressed Up!

Today was our usual Monday playgroup except that the little ones dressed up for Halloween! We all had a good laugh but it was over quick to try to keep the peace!

I am so grateful for our Monday playgroup, it really helps to keep my sanity! The girls that are in it have all moved to Grand Rapids recently and are really down to earth. We always end up with really interesting conversation and lots of good laughs.

Today Liam wore his Irish knit sweater that my mom made him, it was a perfect fit and too cute to describe. She also made us a matching hat and is working on some mittens...I will post those soon.

Liam has all the toys in the world but he tends to play with the classical toys like stacking cups, blocks, and the laundry basket! He rolled around for quite awhile checking it out and poking his little fingers through all the wholes.

Then he spent some time trying to rescue Mr. Giraffe from prison. He is so much fun.

My mom brought a Halloween gift for Liam the last time they visited, we opened it today. He got some great pajamas and 2 stuffed animals from the Disney store, he loved them. Thanks Grandma!

Who Needs A Diaper?

Every morning Liam has a poopy diaper after his morning nap so after I change it I lay him in his crib so I can go wash my hands. This is how I found him this morning, he unfastened his diaper and had his hand down there! He seemed rather pleased with himself, I think his goal in life is to get as much "pinch and roll" (that's what Mike calls it) time as possible...boys!

Sometimes I just can't resist snapping some pictures of Liam. He is almost always in a good mood and so willing to smile for the camera! I love him so much.

The blanket in this picture was made by Grammy Jill. Until recently it was over the back of our rocking chair in the nursery, but Liam has really gotten into the silky edges so I have brought it out for him to play with. He loves it!

Today I dressed Liam up in a cute Halloween outfit. I love to coordinate his clothes all the way from the hat to his toes! Mike would have died if he saw him in this...too bad he was at work until 8:30! I guess late nights do have their benefits.

Today we met the Nichols family to spend some time together. We met in this cute little town about an hour from our house, we had dinner and then the kids (note who is in the picture) played with a bug zapper that Mike bought. It was great to see everybody!

Surprise Visit!

Last night we received a phone call from my dad wondering if they could come up for the day on Saturday and we said...OF COURSE!! My parents were just here 2 weeks ago but they have been dying to see Liam roll from place to place. So now that we live close to them up they came for the day!

We had a great time; lunch at a great little restaurant in town, Liam took a nap and then we went to Reed's Lake for a little fun on the blanket. And yes he did roll for them multiple times...they were so pleased.

Thursdays are Mike's half days and since the weather was beautiful we headed to Fredrick Meijer Garden for a stroll. One of the areas they have there is an old barn and farm area, during the fall they have giant pumpkins. We took some pictures...

Liam loves this monkey that his Great Uncle Ross gave him, here are some great pictures of him playing in his nursery.

Look at poor Fletcher in the background, he so badly want to be part of the action!

This shot is an action shot of me saving Fletcher from Liam. It is a constant battle these days, Liam now rolls all over the place and loves to harass the dogs. So far they have been good sports when he does grab them but I know that it is only a matter of time. I need eyes in the back of my head!

7 Months Old!

Oh my...can he really be 7 months old already? I feel like it was yesterday that I gave birth to him. He is growing so fast and changing everyday I just can't believe it. He loves to sit and play independently on the floor, and he is finally getting the hang of rolling over to travel places (pup pups watch out!). He is still a little charmer and a huge flirt with the ladies. Watch out when he grows up...these pics are just a taste of his personality!

The love I have for him still overwhelms me on a daily basis and somehow continues to grow deeper and stronger as he matures. Every time I am tired, short on patience, or just want a little "me time" I remember that every moment is shaping his personality, and contributing to his future. He looks to us for everything from the simplest things like a clean diaper all the way to the most important like how to love others. The extra sleep and "me time" can come later when I am old and grey, right now Mike and I have the hardest job on earth...raising a child.

My parents came up to spend the weekend with us...more like Liam. They just can't seem to get enough of the little guy. Grandma Jean and I went shopping, of course, and got Liam some new toys. The one in the picture below he had tried out at Amandaj's house and really liked it.

My parents are easy to please when they come just put them to work with Liam and they are happy...

While they were here we drove to see my Aunt Brigette in Hesperia which is about 1 1/2 hours away. Liam was really good and had a great time with Aunt Brigette.

We are so lucky to have so many people in Liam's life that love him so much!

Sassy Girl Finds the Couch!

We have had Sassy for about 4 years now and she has never been a furniture hound. Even when I wanted her to snuggle with me on the couch she just would not do it. But the other morning I got up and found her on the couch in the piano room! I could not believe my eyes! She looks guilty in this picture even though I praised her for it.

I figure that once Liam is crawling at least she will have a safe space to get away from him.

Zucchini and Pears

Liam is advancing on his solid foods. I have not been good about pics of each one as I make it, Mike thinks they are boring. Anyway here is a pic of him trying each of them.

Surprisingly he really enjoys the zucchini although you can't tell from the picture.
