Liam's First Snowball!

Tonight we had our first Michigan snow, it was just enough to cover the ground. When we lived in Alabama Liam experienced his first snow that was just a dusting but shut the city down for the day! Up here in Michigan we were probably the only people that even thought that it was fun!

Mike brought Liam a snowball to see what the little guy thought about it. As you can see he was curious and a little cranky about how cold it was. Poor guy!

Grandparents Galore!

My parents came up for the day and brought my grandma with too! Grandma Hagen has met Liam a couple of times but it seems like we are always at a family gathering and everyone wants a turn with him. So it was nice for her to only have to share him with my mom and dad, although that too can be a challenge.

It is hard to tell from these pics but Liam has started to have either separation anxiety or stranger anxiety. When my parents arrive my mom wanted to hold him ASAP, when I passed him off to her he started screaming and reaching for me. I think it hurt my mom's feelings a little bit but after he warmed up to everyone and was Mr. Social!
We had a great day that included lunch at a new restaurant in town and then we headed to Meijer Garden for their annual gift show. We finished off the day with some dinner at our house and then some sad goodbyes so that they could trek 3 hours back to Chicago.
This just reaffirms our decision to move back North, I love these visits! I only hope we can survive this first winter :)

We received a mysterious package today addressed to Liam, when we opened it we discovered a ton of goodies. Everything from shoes and slippers to some great new clothes including hats (mommy loves hats). What a surprise! Thanks Grammy Jill! Liam also had a great time playing in the box.

Notice in the last picture he has his shoe on one foot and a new slipper on the other, we just had to try it on!

I forgot to post this with all the excitement of Halloween, Liam cut his first tooth! YEAH!!! For the past 3 months I kept thinking that the little bugger was going to cut any day and it finally debuted on Halloween. So the only disadvantage to this is that now he bites when he nurses, yeah ouch is right. I battled it out with him tonight firmly telling him no and even tapping his cheek but he laughed at me! UGH!! What am I to do?

Hoffmaster State Park

Today we decided to enjoy the last of the beautiful weather before winter grips us! We headed to a state park on the shores of Lake Michigan about 45 minutes from here. We did some hiking and took a long walk on the beach.

Liam was slept for most of the hike but enjoyed the beach. I truly love living in Michigan! We are so happy here and are having such a great time.

Liam's First Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Today we celebrated Liam's first Halloween, we had so much fun! Of course he dressed up in his teddy bear costume and posed with his little pumpkin.

We did some trick or treating at all the neighbors house to show the little guy off...

Then we enjoyed handing out candy to all the ghost and goblins that came to our doorstep. Liam was so cute and hung out with us on the porch until the last of the trick or treaters came.

Mike and I had carved some pumpkins...this one is Mike's: (the pic of my pumpkin did not turn out)

My only wish was that all that grandparents could be hear to see the little guy all dressed up!
